About Modest Goods

We're a small family business based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we started the way most small businesses do — with one product we believed in.

That product was a handcrafted leather journal. Simple, well-made, built to last. We figured if we could make something people genuinely loved using, everything else would follow. Turns out, we were right.

Since then, we've grown our lineup, but the standard hasn't changed: everything we sell has to be made with real care, priced fairly, and worth keeping for years. We're not interested in cheap goods dressed up in good packaging. If it's not something we'd use ourselves, it doesn't make the cut.

We give back — and have for years

From the beginning, we've set aside a portion of every sale to support children and families in Southeast Asia — providing meals, educational materials, and basic necessities to communities that need it. We've been doing this for over five years and have no plans to stop.

So when you buy from Modest Goods, you're not just getting something well-made. You're helping someone on the other side of the world have a better day. That means a lot to us, and we hope it means something to you too.
